SEPTEMBER 2010
Thursday, September 2nd Sixty-fifth Anniversary of the Signing of the Instrument of Surrender by representatives of the Emperor of Japan. Accepting the surrender, Admiral Nimitz signed on behalf of the United States while General McArthur signed on behalf of the Allied Forces.

Book Signing for The Flowers of Edo
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation will host a book signing with author Michael Dana Kennedy for his debut novel, The Flowers of Edo. Attendees will hear from Kennedy on what inspired him to write the highly praised novel that includes a special twist that has the reader wondering, "what if?"

Living History Program
This popular living history program uses objects from the museum`s education collection to bring World War II to life for visitors as re-enactors demonstrate the weapons and discuss the tactics and strategy that won the war. The Pacific Combat Zone is located two blocks northeast of the museum complex on E. Austin Street between Elk and Lee.
Three programs each day: 10:30 am, 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm
