Admiral Nimitz Birthday Recognition
Join us in the West Wing of the George H.W. Bush Gallery for music and cake honoring the 127th birthday of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. This event is free and open to the public. Anyone who shares a birthday with Admiral Nimitz gets free admission to the museum.

James A. Baker III Dinner
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation will be hosting An Evening with the Honorable James A. Baker III on Feburary 24, 2012 as part of its' Distinguished Speakers Series. Re-enactment at Liberty Hill
The La Rue Multi-Gun Championship Shoot in Liberty Hill, TX has invited us to come to the shoot and re-enact a small battle of the Pacific war. The program will be on Sunday April 22, 2012 at noon. The three gun shoot is will be with WWII weapons and is open to the public all weekend. You can read more about the event at

Film Premiere - "Forgotten Soldiers"
Join us for a premiere showing of "Forgotten Soldiers," a documentary about the United States Army's Philippine Scouts, in the Nimitz Ballroom. For more details on the film, visit their website at

Memorial Day Observance
Join us for our annual Memorial Day Program honoring all of those who have lost their lives serving in the United States Armed Forces. Captain Dave Edgecomb Commanding Officer, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi will be the keynote speaker. This event is free and open to the public.

War Dogs Demonstration
The museum will host several four-legged guests which will show off their war dog training. The dogs are currently in training at Lackland Air Force Base, and will show what they have learned thus far. Dogs at Lackland are trained for all branches of the military. The demonstration will be followed by a question and answer session for the trainers. In the afternoon, visitors can learn more about how these dogs are used in therapy for servicemen and women who are coping with PTSD through the program Penny's from Heaven. In the Memorial Courtyard and Nimitz Ballroom at the National Museum of the Pacific War
